Holton's throwing program has grown exponentially in the last three years since head coach Travis Thayer took the helm after long time head coach Mark Middlemist's retirement.
Year one had 18 throwers between the men and women for the 2021 season.
Coach Thayer's first year, 2021, four throwers qualified in five events at the state track meet in Wichita.

The 2022 season saw 29 athletes make up our throwing team. All team members continued to perfect their skills as the season progressed. They competed in a tough regional, and came away with 2 throwers qualifying in 3 events at the state track meet in Wichita.

The 2023 season has started with 36 throwers working hard for a spot on the varsity roster. Goals have been set to send even more athletes to the state meet this year.
